Auburn girls top Kennedy Catholic, advance in NPSL sub-regional tournament

Emily Strojan scored 16 points and Rebecca Thareek had 13 as Auburn advanced in the North Puget Sound League sub-district girls basketball tournament Thursday with a 43-33 loser-out game victory over Kennedy Catholic at Tahoma High School.

The Trojans led 22-11 at halftime and never led by less than eight points in the second half.

Auburn (10-11) takes on Kentwood (10-11) at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Tahoma.

Kentwood advanced with a 53-37 win over Federal Way on Thursday.
