Camas bounces Auburn Mountainview from district playoffs

Ryan Behnke threw a complete-game six hitter as Camas defeated Auburn Mountainview 8-3 on Tuesday at Puyallup’s Heritage Park, eliminating the Lions from the district playoffs.

The Lions finished the season 9-14.

Camas pulled away with four runs in the second inning to take a 5-1 lead.

Ryan Behnke went the distance for Camas, allowing three runs on six hits, striking out eight and walking one.

Grant Harris took the loss, surrendering five runs on eight hits over four innings, striking out one and walking none.

Kamana Nahaku led the Lions with two hits, including a triple, in three at-bats and drove in a run.

Nate Weeldreyer launched a two-run home run and pitched a complete-game two-hitter, leading Auburn Mountainview to a 4-1 victory over visiting Rogers of Puyllaup in a district loser-out playoff last Saturday.

Weeldreyer’s homer brought home Hayden Byorick, who singled, in the sixth inning. Nick Dublinski added a run-scoring double.

Willis Cresswell had an RBI single in the fourth.

Weeldreyer struck out two and walked three in a 95-pitch performance.

Kyler Barton homered in the seventh for the Rams (7-14).
