Rucker to head Rotary scholarship concert

Darius Rucker, lead singer of the Grammy Award-winning band, Hootie & The Blowfish,

will perform as a solo country music artist at the 26th annual Rotary Club of Auburn Scholarship Show.

Rucker will perform at 5 p.m. and 9 p.m., May 2, at the Auburn Performing Arts Center, 700 E. Main St.

Rucker’s debut country album, “Learn to Live,” hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart, as well as No. 5 on the publication’s overall sales chart.

Opening for Rucker will be country music prodigy singer/songwriter Hannah Weeks.

Tickets are $35 and available through TicketMaster. VIP packages are $250 and includes up to four tickets, dinner and a reception with the celebrities.
