King Conservation District Internet-based election closes Wednesday

Voting in the King Conservation District Internet-based election for board of supervisor Position No. 2 concludes Wednesday with online and “in-person” voting ending at 9 p.m.

Candidates include Douglas “Bruce” Elliott, Kent; Teri Herrera, Redmond; Eric K. Nelson, Duvall; and Preston Prudente of Sammamish.

Online voter applicants who have received an e-mailed confirmation of voter eligibility may vote online. The King CD also is providing an “in-person” voting option between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. Tuesday at the district’s offices located at 1107 SW Grady Way in Renton.

Individuals registered to vote in King County (excluding residents of cities that are not members of the King Conservation District: Enumclaw, Federal Way, Milton, Pacific and Skykomish) are eligible to vote.

In one of the first elections of its kind in the U.S., the online election provides registered voters in King

County with the convenience of voting from home, business or other computer locations.

The King CD encompasses most of King County and delivers natural resources information and technical and funding assistance for stewardship efforts by landowners. It is one of 46 conservation districts in Washington State.
