Auburn police blotter | April 22

Auburn police responded to the following calls for service, among many others, between April 18 and April 20:

April 18

Gas theft: 11 p.m., 400 block of C Street Northwest. Somebody siphoned gas from a vehicle, committing a mysterious act of vandalism in the process.

Gas theft: 11:43 a.m., Second and First Street Southeast. Somebody siphoned gas from another vehicle.

Commercial burglary: Overnight, 3402 I St. NE. Somebody operating in the dead of night forced open the front office door of Bye the Green Condominiums and then walked off with a computer, turning the normally staid main office into a crime scene. Suspects, there were none.

Trespassing: 8:31 a.m., 500 Auburn Way S. Police arrested a well known Auburn transient – well known to police, anyway – for trespassing on Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad property.

Theft from motor vehicle: 8:47 a.m., 800 block of 29th Street Southeast. Somebody stole a stereo from a car. Police did not disclose the worth of the missing stereo.

Car part thieves: 6:23 p.m., 2300 block of Auburn Way North. Somebody stole seats and a door panel from a vehicle. Police did not disclose a value for the missing parts.

April 19

Felony theft from vehicle: Overnight, 3902 B St. NW. Somebody broke into several box trucks in the same parking lot on B Street Northwest.

Theft from motor vehicle: 5:28 p.m., 2200 block of Auburn Way South. Somebody swiped a back-up camera monitor from a peaceably parked motor home.

Shoplifting: 6:35 p.m., 1406 Lake Tapps Parkway SE. Top Foods store employees reported that $20 worth of deli chicken and jojo’s walked out the door, without stopping to pay first.

Theft from vehicle: 12:33 a.m., 3400 block of 20th Street Southeast. A 16- to 18-year-old -boy broke out a car window, leaving blood behind. A witness saw the bloodied boy getting into a maroon Nissan Quest waiting nearby and then zipping off.

April 20

Controlled substance: 12:24 a.m., 1306 69th Court SE. Police arrested a boy for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia with which to smoke said narcotic. Police contacted him in a closed park after hours.

Commercial burglary: 3:15 a.m., 420 H St. NW. An Auburn business called to report that somebody had cut a chain on a perimeter fence. Employees didn’t know if anything else had been damaged or stolen.
