Auburn Mountainview earns No. 2 seed into district playoffs with 3-1 win over Hazen | Baseball

Ace Steven Johnson was magnificent on the mound for the Lions this past Saturday in the South Puget Sound League/Seamount/Bremerton 3A tournament, going seven innings and giving up just four hits in a 3-1 Auburn Mountainview win.

Johnson notched 11 strikeouts in the contest and walked just two batters.

After tying it up 1-1 in the fourth inning, the Lions took the lead in the fifth with Derek Stephen driving in two runs with a single to centerfield.

Stephen finished the game with 3-for-3, with two RBIs.

Kekoa Nahaku also went 3-for-3 at the dish and notched an RBI.

The Lions (12-9 overall) earn the No. 2 seed into the West Central District III/Southwest District IV tourney and will play either Wilson or Hudson’s Bay at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Heidelberg Field in Tacoma.
