Poets Sweet, Robacker to perform at The Station Bistro

Poetry at The Station Bistro presents the works of M. Anne Sweet and Tammy Robacker at 7 p.m. Monday.

Coffee and conversation follow the featured poets’ performances at The Bistro, 110 Second Street SW, No. 125, Auburn, one block south of West Main Street, on the east side of the Auburn Transit Center.

The public is welcome.

Sweet is a poet and artist who has performed and exhibited throughout the Pacific Northwest. As a poet, she has performed individually, as well as with The Seattle Five Plus One, Project Z and the Daughters of Dementia. Literary credits include a book-length poetry collection, “Nailed to the Sky”; past winner of the Bart Baxter Poetry in Performance Competition; and numerous works in print and online.

She maintains a working studio at Equinox Studios in the Georgetown area of Seattle and is working on a series of graphic poems (in the genre of graphic novels) that combine her visual art and poetry.

Robacker is former Poet Laureate of Tacoma 2011 and author of “The Vicissitudes”. She is working on her second collection of poetry, “Villain Song”. She is actively involved in the South Sound poetry community as a poet, a freelance writer and a volunteer, Robacker also serves as secretary of the board for Puget Sound Poetry Connection and secretary of the board for Exquisite Disarray Publishing, a nonprofit literary arts organization that publishes Northwest writers.

In 2009, she co-edited a Tacoma poetry anthology, with former Urban Grace Poet Laureate of Tacoma, Bill Kupinse, called, In Tahoma’s Shadow: Poems from the City of Destiny. Her poetry has appeared in Plazm, Floating Bridge Review: Pontoon, Word Salad, Pens on Fire, and the Allegheny Review.
