ASE Industry Education Alliance recognizes Auburn High teacher

Auburn High automotive teacher Fred Donaldson recently received the Automotive Service Excellence Industry Education Alliance Instructor Recognition Award.

The award is presented to a select group of 34 automotive instructors throughout the country who demonstrate a commitment to teaching automotive classes with rigorous standards.

Donaldson recently received an award letter and certificate from the president of the ASE, the body which certifies automotive technicians. He is recognized for outstanding dedication to automotive technology and the development of tomorrow’s automotive professionals.

The automotive program for the Auburn School District is housed at Auburn High School. Students from all ASD high schools participate in the program. The career and technical course prepares students for careers in automotive maintenance.

Donaldson has taught the program at the school since 1984. Hundreds of his students have graduated from high school with the skills to be hired by numerous mechanic shops throughout the region.

“This is a great example of our partnerships with industry to prepare our students for their futures,” said Cindi Blansfield, ASD executive director of career and college readiness.
