Auburn falls to district consolation bracket | Boys basetball

Auburn was unable to overcome Columbia River in the first round of the West Central District III/Southwest District 4 3A boys basketball tournament, falling 55-21 Thursday.
The ice cold Trojans (8-13) shot just 7-of-21 from the field against the Chieftains (15-3) and were held scoreless for the entire third quarter.
Columbia River, which led 18-14 at the intermission, pulled away with a 30-0 in the second half.
Auburn’s Malik Williams had a team-high six points.
The loss puts the Trojans in the consolation bracket, where they face North Thurston (8-13) at 2:45 p.m. Saturday at Clover Park High School in a loser-out game.
