Auburn Riverside sent packing in distict tourney with 53-44 loss to Prairie | Boys basketball

The Auburn Riverside boys basketball team’s season was cut short a couple of victories shy of the regional tourney.

The Ravens dropped a 53-44 decision to Prairie in the West Central District III/Southwest District 4 3A tournament at Clover Park High School on Tuesday.

Down 27-23 at the break, the Ravens (13-10) were held to just eight third-quarter points, leaving the score 39-31 going into the fourth quarter.

In the fourth quarter, Auburn Riverside pulled to within three points, but was unable to catch Prairie.

Junior Quintin Bethea led the Ravens with 14 points, with Mitch Wetmore chipping in with 13.

Greg Bernash had a game-high 29 points for Prairie (10-14).
