Auburn Mountainview blanks Bonney Lake 5-0 | Girls tennis

The Auburn Mountainview girls tennis squad defeated Bonney Lake 5-0 in South Puget Sound League play Thursday.

No. 1 singles player Leanna Harris led the way with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Bonney Lake’s Bailee Littlefield.

Also victorious was Lion No. 2 singles Lesya Kononov who beat Kiera Watson 6-1, 6-1.

In doubles play Auburn Mountainview’s No. 1 tandem of Lauren Kearney and Celeste Andreotti defeated Kristen Cunningham and Samantha Garrity 6-3, 6-1.

The Lion No. 2 doubles team of Kathy Nguyen and Victoria Bolshakova downed Natalie Gleason and Olivia Grob 6-0, 6-1 and the No. 3 team of Angie Andreotti and Tanya Spatarel beat Bonney Lakes’ Mindy Joyce and Kadie Demich 6-1, 6-0.

The win improves Auburn Mountainview to 1-0 in league and overall. Bonney Lake falls to 0-3 in league and overall.

The Lions will travel to Enumclaw at 3:30 p.m. Monday to play the 1-0 Hornets.
