Auburn Mountainview clobbered 12-0 in first round of state 3A tourney | Fastpitch

Despite Savannah Guzman’s two-hit performance Auburn Mountainview was unable to post any runs this morning, losing 12-0 to Meadowdale in the first round of the Washington State 3A Fastpitch tournament in Lacey.

Lauren Dent earned the win for the Mavericks (19-4) with six innings of shutout ball with 10 strikeouts. She gave up just five hits in the contest.

Julia Reuble had two home runs in the game, with Smanatha Gregoryk and Hailey Costello adding one tater each. The three players combined for six hits and nine RBIs in the game, which moved them on to a quarterfinal game against Prairie.

Lion (13-5) pitcher Zoe Collins was torched for 12 runs in 5 1/3 innings, walking two and striking out six.

Auburn Mountainview plays Lake Washington (22-2) in the consolation brackets today at 2 p.m. at the Regional Sports Complex in Lacey.
