Auburn Riverside’s Brittni Williams leaps to second in long jump | Track and field

Auburn Riverside senior Brittni Williams led local athletes on Friday with her second-place 17 feet, 4 ¾ inches finish in the girls 3A long jump.

Mountlake Terrace junior Chini Okoronkwo won the even with a 18-00.00 distance.

Williams will contend for the triple jump title on Saturday.

In the 3A girls 300 hurdles final Auburn freshman Rebecca Thareek was fourth with a 45.18 second time.

Auburn Montainview sophomore Molly House was seventh with a 46.88.

Kamiakin dominated the event with junior Heather Donais finishing first with a 43.94 and senior Lindsey Schauble coming in second with a 44.16.

In the 3A girls discus throw Lion senior Heaven Palaita capped her prep career with a 13th place 105-00 toss.

Arlington’s Justean Landis won the event with a 135-06.

Finally, in the boys 3A discus Auburn Mountainview senior Trevor Jensen was sixth with a 149.11, with Mt. Spokane senior Trevor Payne taking home gold in the event with a 167-00.

Washington State 3A boys and girls track and field action wraps up Saturday at Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma.
