Williams leads Raven boys and girls track with second in triple and long jump

Auburn Riverside senior Brittni Williams led local athletes with two second-place finishes at the state 3A track and field championships at Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma this past weekend.

Williams finished with a long jump leap of 17 feet, 4¾ inches, and stretched 38-6¼ in the triple jump to help lead the Ravens to a ninth-place finish with 21 team points, tied with Bishop Blanchet.

Mountlake Terrace’s Chinne Okoronkwo won the long (18-0) and triple jumps (41-10¼).

Williams joined the Ravens’ 400-meter relay team of Lexi Chinn, Aulane Mpouli and Jessica Willform that finished fourth with a time of 49.78 seconds. Kamiakin won the final in 48.57.

Chinn, a senior, missed out on the finals cut of eight with the ninth-fastest qualifying time in the 100 meters at 12.82.

In the boys competition, senior Dax Tate wrapped up his prep career with a 13th-place finish in the 3,200 with a 9:50.88.
