A 19-year-old man whom prosecutors have charged with an alleged drive-by shooting that killed two men at a bus stop in Auburn on Oct. 20 pleaded not guilty Thursday morning to two counts of second-degree murder and one count each of first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a stolen vehicle.

King County prosecutors last week charged Froilan Hermenegildo with killing 19-year-old Angel Mireles and 40-year-old Mark Rivera, Mireles’ stepfather. Prosecutors have also charged Hermenegildo with first-degree assault for allegedly firing at Rivera’s 13-year-old son, who was not hurt.

A 16-year-old girl whom police arrested with Hermenegildo has been charged in juvenile court with first-degree rendering of criminal assistance and with taking a motor vehicle without permission.

Hermenegildo remains in jail on $2 million bail. A superior court judge scheduled a case setting hearing for 1 p.m., Nov. 18 in courtroom GA of the Maleng Regional Justice Center.
