The Valley Regional Authority responded to 233 calls for service between March 22 and 27, among them the following:
March 22
Aid call: 10:13 a.m., (Pacific). Firefighters checked a young man who was having chest pain, and a private ambulance zipped him off to St Francis Hospital.
March 23
Aid call: 8:22 a.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters treated an elderly man who had injured himself falling from his wheelchair, and a private ambulance transported him to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC).
March 24
Service call: 12:54 p.m., (Auburn). A boy who had gotten his arm stuck in a soda vending machine freed the limb just as firefighters arrived.
March 25
Service call: 11:38 a.m., (Algona). Having responded to a flooding problem in a home, firefighters found a broken water pipe under the kitchen sink, turned off the water and helped the homeowner remove the water.
March 26
Aid call: 3 p.m., (South Auburn). Firefighters and King County Medics responded to a woman choking, evaluated and stabilized her, and King County Medics hurried her to MAMC.
March 27
Aid call: 4 p.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters treated an infant boy who was suffering seizures, reassured the parents, and a private ambulance motored him to MAMC for further treatment.
