Auburn’s Hilda Meryhew, Lakota Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, was recently honored for her outstanding service to the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) and for her continued support over the years to the Washington Color Guard.

Meryhew received the Martha Washington Medal for her efforts from Bob O’Neal, commander of the WASSAR Color Guard, SAR.

Meryhew has marched with the SAR in honor of military veterans in several major parades, including the Auburn Veterans Day Parade and the Bremerton Armed Forces Day Parade. She also has made several history presentations as a guest speaker to SAR chapters, often driving long distances from her home.
