The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 244 Requests for service between Dec. 12 and 18, among them the following:
Dec. 12
Aid call: 4:21 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters and King County Medics treated a woman who was struggling to catch her breath, and medics transported her to a local hospital.
Dec. 13
Vehicle fire: 11:30 a.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters dispatched to a report of a vehicle fire under a car in a parking lot discovered that a bystander had already snuffed out the blazing cardboard box at the blazing center of it all.
Dec. 14
Aid call: 4:33 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters and King County Medics assessed a woman who was complaining of shortness of breath and a rapid heart rate, and a private ambulance transported her to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC).
Dec. 15
Aid call: 6:10 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters and King County Medics evaluated an elderly Auburn woman who was having breathing trouble, and medics transported her in stable condition to a local hospital for additional treatment.
Dec. 16
Accident: 12:48 p.m., (Pacific). Having arrived at a two-vehicle accident on State Route 167, firefighters found a man and a woman out of their vehicles and walking around with no complaints of injuries. As there were no injuries, firefighters turned the scene over to the Washington State Patrol.
Dec. 17
Aid call: 9:55 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters and King County Medics assessed an older man who was complaining of chest pain, and medics transported him to MAMC.
Dec. 18
Aid call: (South Auburn). Having responded to a report of an older gentleman who had fallen unconscious while he was playing poker, firefighters and King County Medics found CPR already underway. VRFA personnel and medics took over patient care, stabilized the fellow, and medics transported him to MAMC.
