Auburn Police blotter | March 10

Auburn Police responded to the following calls for service, among many others, between Feb. 27 and March 6:

Feb. 27

Theft: 8:30 a.m., 915 Auburn Way N. Somebody swiped a bag and wallet from a locker at 24 Hour Fitness.

Feb. 28

Shoplifting: 2:30 p.m., 101 Auburn Way S. Police took a man into custody at Safeway for theft and for having drugs and assorted paraphernalia on his thieving person.

Theft: 12:45 p.m., 2200 block of O Street Northeast. A woman complained that her new roommate had stolen her prescribed Adderall.

Theft: 10:45 a.m., 1400 block of Henry Road Northeast. Somebody smashed one of a car’s windows, got in there and stole stuff.

March 1

Theft: 9:17 p.m., 600 block of 12th Street Southeast. Police arrested a boy for vehicle prowling and possession of stolen property.

March 2

Bike theft: 1:50 p.m., 510 37th St. SE. The owner of a recently-stolen bicycle saw someone riding it.

Theft: 2:30 p.m., 28th Place Southeast. A woman whose house is used as a safehouse for people involved in criminal activity complained that someone had stolen her wallet and credit cards.

Theft: Overnight, 202 N. Division St. While a man was receiving care at MultiCare Auburn Medical Center, thieves unknown broke the passenger-side window of his work truck on the first-floor level of the hospital’s parking garage and stole his briefcase. The man told police that the night before, his wife had told hospital security about suspiciously-loitering-and-possibly-drug-ingesting persons there.

March 4

Trespassing: 8:34 a.m., 1807 Howard Road SE. For doing undisclosed things a grown man should have known were very naughty, the Shopping Complex sped his return to the world outside, telling him in parting to stay there.

Assault with hands and fists: 2:11 p.m., 400 block of 37th Street Southeast. Police arrested a man for choking his girlfriend and resisting arrest, and booked him into jail.

Vandalism: 8:20 p.m., 1400 block of 30th Street Southeast. An apartment resident complained about graffiti that appeared to be gang related on the exterior of his building.

March 6

Animal problem: 9:30 a.m., 900 block of 26th Street Northeast. While the owner of a pit bull terrier type of dog was walking it on a leash, it bit someone on the nose. Auburn’s animal control officer declared the dog dangerous and transported it to the Auburn Valley Humane Society for quarantine.

Theft: 11:24 a.m., 1101 Outlet Collection Way SW. Somebody stole an iPhone 7 from an employee of the mall. Two suspects were identified but police could not find probable cause for an arrest.

Animal problem: 3:35 p.m., 1500 block of 8th Street Northeast. A stray injured cat was impounded and taken to the Auburn Valley Humane Society.
