VRFA fire and rescue blotter | March 10

The Auburn Valley Fire Authority responded to 234 calls for service between Feb. 27 and March 6, among them the following.

Feb. 27

Aid call: 12:15 p.m. Firefighters assisted King County Medics as they evaluated and treated a senior citizen who had accidentally inhaled bug killer spray and was in respiratory distress. Medics transported the woman to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC) for further treatment.

Feb. 28

Aid call: 1 p.m., (Algona). Firefighters responded to a woman who was complaining of abdominal pain, and a private ambulance transported her to MAMC.

March 1

Aid call: 9:25 a.m., (Lea Hill) . Firefighters evaluated an older woman who was complaining of falling and then left her at home.

March 2

Aid call: 7:56 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters and King County Medics responded to a woman who was complaining of chest pain, an ongoing problem that had been causing her a lot of suffering. When Firefighters determined that her vital signs and symptoms were stable, a private ambulance transported her to MAMC for further evaluation and treatment.

March 3

Aid call: 3:40 p.m. Firefighters and King County Medics who had responded to an elderly man who was feeling weak following recent heart surgery quickly determined the fellow was in critical condition, and a VRFA aid unit whisked him off to MAMC.

March 5

Aid call: 7:15 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters evaluated a man who had sustained injuries in a fall, and a private ambulance transported him to MAMC for further evaluation and treatment.

March 6

Aid call: 12:19 a.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters evaluated a young man who was complaining of back injuries after a vehicle police chase with Auburn PD. and a private ambulance transported him to MAMC for further evaluation and treatment.
