The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 275 calls for service between May 15 and 21, among them the following:
May 15
CPR: 2:04 p.m., (Auburn). After firefighters and King County Medics had performed CPR and used a defibrillator on a man in cardiac arrest, he regained a heart rhythm, and medics transported him to Harborview Medical Center.
May 16
Aid call: 3:56 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters treated a man who had sustained a groin injury from a dog bite, and a private ambulance transported him to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC). Firefighters called animal control to the scene to evaluate the dog.
May 17
Automatic Fire Alarm: 1 p.m., (Lakeland Hills). En route to a report of an automatic fire alarm in a home, firefighters got word that burnt food had caused a false alarm, and that the homeowner needed help to reset the alarm. When VRFA personnel arrived, they used fans to remove the smoke and reset the alarm.
May 18
Aid call: 5:13 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters assessed a male toddler in respiratory distress and treated him on scene, whereupon King County Medics transported the youngster to Seattle Children’s for further treatment and evaluation.
May 19
Aid call: 6:40 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters and King County Medics evaluated a young pregnant woman who was complaining of chest pain, and a private ambulance transported her to Valley Medical Center.
May 20
Aid call: 3:43 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters and King County Medics examined a young man who’d been struck by a car in a crosswalk and transported him to Harborview Medical Center.
May 21
Aid call: 2:07 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters sufficiently calmed a middle-aged man who was suffering an anxiety attack to a point where he was able to go to urgent care with his wife.
