VRFA fire and rescue blotter | June 30

The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 243 calls for service between June 19 and 25, among them the following:

June 19

Automatic fire alarm: 5:23 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters responding to an automatic fire alarm wailing in the corridors of the International Building at Green River College found water from an air conditioning unit leaking through the ceiling of an office into a smoke detector, causing a short in the smoke detector. Firefighters turned the building over to campus maintenance.

June 20

Accident: 10:11 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a two-car accident evaluated a woman with a slight injury to her forehead and green-lighted her to go to her primary care physician for further care as needed.

June 21

Aid call: 3:01 a.m., (Pacific). Firefighters evaluated a middle-aged woman who was complaining of nausea and vomiting and when she said she felt better, left her at the scene in the care of her family.

June 22

Deck fire: 5:30 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters quickly extinguished a residential deck fire before it could spread to the house.

June 23

Overdose: 8:31 p.m., (South Auburn). Firefighters called to an unconscious young man in the parking lot of a local business found him overdosed on heroin but conscious. Firefighters and King County Medics treated him, and a private ambulance transported him to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC).

June 24

Aid call: 11:40 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters evaluated a young woman who was complaining of a headache and then left her in the care of a friend.

June 25

Aid call: 10:32 a.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters bandaged the cut a woman had sustained to a finger and left her at home with her family.
