A spring tradition, Auburn celebrated Earth Day by participate in the city’s largest volunteer effort last Saturday.

The community-wide volunteer effort focused on major cleanup, environmental restoration and beautification efforts in different areas throughout the city. Volunteer groups performed general cleanup, landscaping, planting, weeding and other projects at various parks, trails and other sites.

The day began with the ceremonial sweep along Main Street sidewalks. The Kiwanis Club of Auburn served up breakfast.
