Boy Scout Troop 401’s Anderson earns rank of Eagle Scout

David Anderson of Auburn is a new Eagle Scout from Boy Scout Troop 401.
Anderson, who attends Auburn Riverside High School, recently earned the prestigious rank, which less than 5 percent of all Scouts achieve.
For his Eagle project, Anderson built roofs over potting tables at Soos Creek Botanical Gardens.
All Eagle projects involve identifying a need in the community, obtaining approval as a qualifying Eagle Scout project, obtaining approval of the benefiting organization, planning, funding, scheduling, managing and executing the project and reporting back. The project itself must be beneficial to others.
Most important is what the scout learns through the process of beginning, sticking with and completing an Eagle Scout project, a process which has been compared to an MBA-level experience.
The official Eagle Court of Honor was Nov. 23.
