King County and the Puget Sound region could see snow by Christmas Eve, according to the National Weather Service. Here’s the forecast for the Seattle area:

Saturday, Dec. 18: Rain. High near 47. Breezy, with a south southwest wind 21 to 23 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. On Saturday night, rain. Low around 38. East northeast wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Sunday, Dec. 19: A 40 percent chance of rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 43. North wind 5 to 9 mph. On Sunday night, a chance of rain before 1 a.m., then a chance of rain and snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 38. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Monday, Dec. 20: Rain. High near 41. Chance of precipitation is 80%. On Monday night, rain likely, mainly before 10 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 36.

Tuesday, Dec. 21: A chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 42. On Tuesday night, a chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 37.

Wednesday, Dec. 22: Rain likely. Cloudy, with a high near 44. On Wednesday night, rain likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 37.

Thursday, Dec. 23: Rain likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 43. On Thursday night, rain and snow likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 35.

Friday, Dec. 24: Rain and snow. Cloudy, with a high near 41.
