Central Washington University pitcher Brandon Williams, an Auburn Mountainview product, improved to 8-2 on the season by throwing a complete-game shutout, a 10-0 win in Game 2 of a doubleheader against Montana State Billings in Ellensburg on Friday.
The Yellowjackets upended CWU 15-7 in the opener.
Williams gave the Wildcats another outstanding start in the nightcap with an eight-strikeout performance, allowing just three hits and walking just one batter.
He has tallied 74 strikeouts on the season, tops in the Greater Northwest Athletic Conference.
The Wildcats play at St.Martin’s in Lacey on May 2-3. Williams is scheduled to throw in Game 2 on May 2.
