Camille sprinted clear in the opening strides and powered home for a two-length victory Friday in the $21,000 Copiers Northwest Purse for fillies and mares at Emerald Downs.

Ridden by Francisco Duran, Camille ran 5½ furlongs in 1:02.53 and paid $5.60, $3.40 and $2.40. Manny Ortiz, now 11-for-33 at Emerald Downs, is the winning trainer for owner Ramiro Meraz-Martinez.

Gunned to the lead from the No. 1 post-position, Camille led through fractions of :21.47, :43.93 and :56.07 en route to victory. A 5-year-old Arizona-bred by Rocky Bar, Camille has won two of her last three starts at Emerald Downs and is 6-for-20 lifetime with earnings of $94,894.

Spot On Babe, with Leslie Mawing riding, rallied to finish second and paid $3.80 and $2.40. Belladiva, ridden by Jorge Rosales, was five lengths back in third and paid $2.20.

Hetty, T.J.’s Only and Val de Saire completed the order of finish.

Duran and Ortiz swept the late daily double with Camille and Remember Benghazi ($5). Ortiz is 12-for-34 at the meet while Duran is sixth in the jockeys’ standings with 27 wins. … Three riders combined to win all seven races: Rocco Bowen riding three winners and Duran and Julien Couton riding two winners each. . Couton leads the standings with 70 wins and is averaging 1.5 wins a day. … Jorge Rosales went down in race seven when his mount Sneakin Cat clipped heels and fell nearing mid-stretch. The jockey was reported conscious and was being transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for examination. Sneakin Cat, a 3-year-old gelding, was reportedly uninjured in the fall. … Pippa Bou Peep, winner of last year’s Barbara Shinpoch Stakes, scored her first win of 2015 Friday, rallying to beat $25,000 claimers at six furlongs. A 3-year-old Harbor the Gold filly, Pippa Bou Peep is co-owned by trainer Charles Essex and Dave & The Little Lady Stable. … Bowen and trainer Joe Toye are one of the track’s hottest combinations, winning with four of their last seven starters including Lord Calezar ($16.20) in Friday’s second race. … Trainer Wesley Ward, who will be inducted into the Washington Racing Hall of Fame Saturday, scored a stakes at Del Mar with Shrinking Violet ($5.80) in the $80,000 Daisycutter Handicap for fillies and mares on turf. … Live racing continues Saturday with the $65,000 Washington Oaks for 3-year-old fillies at 1 1/8 miles. Belle Hill is the 7-to-5 morning line favorite.
