A new batch of results for four Pacific City Council seats were released by King and Pierce counties after 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
With just 537 ballots counted from 2,923 registered voters in Pacific (26.05 percent) counted, all four races are too close to call, although candidates did widen gaps in several races.
In the race for Postion No. 2 incumbent Councilmember John Jones increased his lead to 37 votes over challenger Brice Erickson – 275 votes (53.5 percent) to 238 (46.30).
In the Position No. 5 race Stacy May Knudtson appears to be cruising to victory over her opponent Gary Nitschke. Knudtson has 313 (60.90 percent) votes to Nitschke’s 204 (39.69 percent).
In the Position No. 7 race City Council President Tren Walker also looks to be heading to victory with 337 votes (67.81 percent) to opponent Ronnie M. Harris’ 158 (31.80 percent).
And in the Position No. 4 contest Leanne Guier has closed ground although Vic Kave still has a slim 21-vote lead – 270 (51.92 percent) to 249 (47.89 percent).
Guier, who was unable to pull out of the race after being appointed mayor, said that if she won the election, she wouldn’t take the position but would instead defer to the City Council to appoint a councilmember for Position No. 4, which is held by appointed Councilmember Katie Garberding.
Results from the general election are updated daily at 4:30 p.m. until they are certified on Nov. 26.
