The official grand opening of Coastal Farm and Ranch’s new Auburn store is Thursday through Sunday, June 7-10.
Coastal’s new store, at 1425 Supermall Way, is the former Walmart facility just south of the SuperMall.
“The remodel is complete and the store looks amazing,” according to Byron Baule, Coastal’s operations manager. “We’ve packed the store with 2,000 pairs of work boots, 3,000 pairs of jeans, miles and miles of fencing and over 25 working stoves and fireplaces. Selection makes our store special and unique.”
The store’s grand opening celebration includes performances by local high school bands, a ribbon cutting ceremony, a free bounce house in the parking lot and a 25-cent hamburger BBQ benefiting local 4-H clubs. Customers also can register to win thousands in grand opening prizes.
According to store owner Buzz Wheeler, Coastal has hired 40 new employees from the King and Pierce County area.
“It’s very important to support the local community, and one of the best ways is by hiring knowledgeable, smart people who have lived in the area for years,” Wheeler said. “We’ve found a really talented crew and staff and I’m excited to see what they’re going to do.”
The public is encouraged to check out the new store, and visit with manager Bill Eikenbary, assistants Kelley Haynes and Laura Jaques and the Auburn team.
Coastal carries more than 50,000 products and includes a large indoor yard, allowing customers to shop for fencing, livestock, equipment, lawn and garden supplies regardless of weather conditions.
Approximately one-third of the store is dedicated to clothing, with another third being a combination of hardware, tools, welding and automotive, and the balance filled with animal health, farm equipment, tack, feed and supplements.
