Auburn Riverside slides by Lakes 4-1 | Girls tennis

Number 1 singles player Jessica Fulford led the way for Auburn Riverside on Tuesday, downing Lakes’ Geomara Nicolo 2-1 on the way to a 4-1 South Puget Sound League 3A victory for the Raven girls.

Fulford won with scores of 6-4, 3-6, 10-3.

Also earning victories for Auburn Riverside were the doubles teams of

No. 1s Carson Heilborn and Lindsey Sanborn, 6-0, 6-0 over Megan Sandin and Aly Morrow; No. 2s Calley Heilborn and Jamillia Lopez, 6-0, 6-1 over Lakes’ Iliana McDaniel and Jazmyne Robbins; and No. 3s Jennifer Giovanetti and Anna Maracich 6-4, 6-4 over Lancers Ashley Serguine and Colleen Selness.

The Ravens’ only loss came at No. 2 singles with Kristi Nguyen falling 6-2, 7-6(3) to Geomari Nicolo.

The win improves Auburn Riverside to 3-0 overall and in the SPSL 3A.

The team will host district rival Auburn at 3:30 p.m. Monday.
