Auburn girl to compete in Seattle Pageant

Auburn’s Alisha “Alley” Quigley has been selected to participate in the Seattle Pageant.

Girls qualified for the pageant following an application and interview process.

Quigley, 16, will compete for the Miss Teen Seattle title June 17 at the Rialto Theatre in Tacoma. Quigley, daughter of Ted Quigley and Laurie Briese, is a sophomore at Auburn Riverside High School.

Quigley has diverse interests and activities, from playing sports to participating in dance. She has attended the Auburn Music and Dance since she was 4. She has studied a wide assortment of dances under director Robert Smith.

She plays the guitar and enjoys photography. She has worked with horses and studied computer game creation, graphic and Web design with software programmers at a University of Washington IT tech camp. She has done extensive community service.

At the pageant, contestants will be judged in an onstage interview, as well as casual and formal wear segments. Personality is the number one aspect that each contestant is judged on during different phases of competition.

Girls compete for prize money and specialty gifts. Young ladies ages 7-19 compete in four different divisions.

Seattle winners advance to the national competition in Orlando, Fla., where more than $30,000 in prizes and awards will be up for grabs.
