Auburn’s Bryan Thornquist seventh at state | Tennis

Auburn junior and No. 1 singles player Bryan Thornquist finished his 2015 campaign with a seventh-place finish at the Washington State 3A Boys Singles Tennis Tournament this past weekend in the Tri-Cities.
Thornquist won his first match 2-1 against Meadowdale’s Bret Matysik before losing 2-0 to Bellevue’s Theodore McDonald in the second round.
In the consolation brackets, Thornquist beat Glacier Peak’s Patrick Luangrath 2-1 before losing 2-0 to Seattle Prep’s Aaron Yuan in the battle for fourth-seventh place.
Also competing at the singles meet was Auburn Riverside’s Colby Tong who went 1-2.
ALSO: In the girls 3A doubles championships Auburn Riverside’s Carson Heilborn and Lindsey Sanborn went 1-2 and Auburn Mountainview’s Sierra Silva and Leanna Harris were 0-2. Neither team placed.
