The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to x calls for service between Feb. 13 and Feb. 19, among them the following:
Feb. 13
Aid call: 7:10 a.m., (Auburn). A man dropped a box of knives, two of them injuring the lower parts of one leg. Firefighters transported the man to Auburn Regional Medical Center for further evaluation and treatment.
Feb. 14
Burn complaint: 10:30 a.m., (Pacific). Firefighters snuffed out an unattended rubbish pile fire then met with workers on site to school them in the finer points of outdoor burning regulations.
Feb. 15
Aid call: 4:19 p.m., (Algona). The sole occupant of a vehicle suffered a seizure while driving on Highway 167 and crashed into a guard rail and median. Firefighters treated the person and transported him or her to ARMC.
Feb. 16
Aid call: 1:50 p.m., (Lea Hill). After firefighters helped a toddler suffering febrile seizures, her mother transported her to her private doctor.
Feb. 17
Aid call: 8:49 p.m., (Lakeland Hills). After firefighters helped an elderly woman suffering from shortness of breath, a private ambulance transported her to Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup.
Feb. 18
Service call: 8:30 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters hustled to remove a large branch blocking the road, but upon arrival found that somebody had already moved the limb. Firefighters left the site after ensuring that all lanes were safe for travel.
Feb. 19
Car accident: 10:51 a.m., (Pacific). A motorist suffered a seizure while driving and crashed into a building on the Boeing complex property. Firefighters and Boeing Fire personnel got the driver out and transported him or her to ARMC for evaluation.
