The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 254 calls for service between Jan. 16 and 22, among them the following:
Jan. 16
Aid call: 3:10 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters evaluated a middle-aged man who was suffering from tremors, and a private ambulance transported him in stable condition to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC).
Jan. 17
Wire Down: 5:55 p.m.,(Algona). Called to investigate wires down along West Valley Highway, firefighters arrived to find a large tree had indeed fallen onto wires, downing them in an adjacent ditch. As soon as Puget Sound Energy arrived to handle the situation, firefighters departed.
Jan. 18
Aid call: 8:16 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters assessed a teenage boy who was complaining of an elbow dislocation and transported him to St Francis Hospital.
Jan. 19
Aid call: 5:56 p.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters quickly evaluated a senior citizen who was complaining of stroke-like symptoms, and a private ambulance transported him to MAMC for additional treatment.
Jan. 20
Aid call: 11:58 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters evaluated a young woman who had overdosed on alcohol and pills, and a private ambulance transported her to (MAMC).
Jan. 21
Aid call: 9:50 a.m., (Pacific). Firefighters evaluated and treated a middle-aged woman who was complaining of shortness of breath, and medics transported her to MAMC.
Jan. 22
Aid call: 7:25 a.m., (Lea Hill). Having responded with King County Medics to an elderly woman who was complaining of chest pain, firefighters and medics determined that a respiratory infection was the culprit, and a private ambulance zipped her off to MAMC.
