Working together will move Auburn forward

I am one of the 80,000 citizens/shareholders in the city of Auburn/corporation. Every four years we come together to elect a new mayor/CEO. At that time, we also elect some of our City Council/board of directors. We trust that that the mayor and council will work together to make our policies and budget, assuring the integrity of our city/corporation.

We have all witnessed the performance of our current mayor: How well does she do when there are no pictures being taken and no press? How well does she communicate with others? How is vital communication passed on to elected officials? Is our current mayor working together with the council so that informed decisions are made? Does the mayor coordinate special activities and events with the council so that the council is involved in the decision-making process?

I think the answer is obvious, considering that five of seven council members are supporting Deputy Mayor Largo Wales for mayor. The majority of our elected council members do not support Mayor Backus.

Why is it that the majority of our elected council members are not casting their votes for Backus?

The city of Auburn needs a mayor that will work with our council members. That person is clearly Deputy Mayor Largo Wales.
