Man’s stroke symptoms get worse | Fire blotter

From the Valley Regional Fire Authority.

The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to the following calls for service, among many others, between Jan. 6 and Jan. 12.

Jan. 6

Aid call: 10:05 p.m. (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters evaluated an Auburn senior citizen who was complaining about a decreased level of consciousness, then transported her to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for further treatment.

Jan. 8

Aid call: 5:54 a.m. (Auburn). Firefighters evaluated a woman who was complaining about a rapid heart rate, and then a private ambulance transported her to a local hospital.

Aid call: 6:59 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters treated a man who was exhibiting stroke-like symptoms and then, given the man’s worsening condition, requested help from King County Medic One paramedics, who joined in the effort and transported the man to Harborview Medical Center.

Jan. 9

Commercial vehicle fire: 10:05 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters extinguished a small fire in a semi-truck. After confirming the truck operator did not need further assistance, firefighters turned the scene over to the operator.

Jan. 10

Shooting: 6:52 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters and King County Medic One paramedics stabilized a self-inflicted gunshot injury. King County Medic One transported the injured party to Harborview Medical Center, with firefighters helping with patient care.

Jan. 11

Aid call: 8 a.m. (Auburn). Firefighters and King County paramedics evaluated a woman who was complaining of chest pain and respiratory distress, and then transported her to a local emergency room for further treatment.

Jan. 12

Overdose: 12:41 p.m. (Auburn). Responding to a report of CPR in progress, firefighters identified an apparent overdose and revived the person using Narcan. A private ambulance then transported the person to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center.
