With his name constantly in the spotlight, Kid Rock has become known as a top performer in the rock, pop and country arenas, as well as generously donating to charitable causes.

Kid Rock has sold 27 million albums worldwide, is a five-time Grammy Award nominee, and has received countless awards for his music, including super-hit song and video, “All Summer Long.”

An Evening with Kid Rock comes to the Washington State Fair on Sept. 22, part of the fair’s concert series presented by Columbia Bank.

Tickets are available starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 20 on the fair website, www.thefair.com/concerts, or by phone, 888-559-FAIR (3247) daily, 8 a.m.-8 p.m.

Tickets also can be purchased in person at the fair box office, 9th Avenue Southwest and Meridian Street on Saturdays, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., and Wednesdays and Thursdays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Kid Rock’s music is a mix of Southern rock, blues, country-tinged ballads, and hip-hop. He doesn’t believe that music should be complicated. He got a promotional push from the label and MTV helped make Devil Without a Cause’s second single and video, “Bawitdaba” a national smash. The follow-up, “Cowboy,” achieved similar success. True to course, his album focuses on party music for people who lived through the ’70s, or wished they had.

His ninth album, Rock N Roll Jesus was released on Oct. 9, 2007, and was the first album to go No. 1 in his career, selling 172,000 copies in its first week. The third single on the album, “All Summer Long” became a smash hit, with the song and video winning CMT, People’s Choice and Detroit Music Awards.

In April 2010, Kid Rock hosted the CMT Awards in both 2010 and 2011. He released Born Free on Nov. 16, 2010 and it debuted at No. 5, selling 189,000 copies in its first week. It was his first album without a parental advisory sticker on it. The album’s title track was the theme song to the 2010 MLB playoffs on TBS as well as WWE’s Tribute To The Troops Special. The album reached gold status on December 15, 2010. Born Free went platinum in July 2011.

Most recently, Kid Rock released the album Rebel Soul on Nov. 19, 2012, with “Let’s Ride” as its lead single. The album debuted at No. 5 and sold nearly 150,000 copies.
