Between Jan. 26 and Feb. 1, Valley Regional Fire Authority firefighters responded to the following calls for service, among many others.
Jan. 26
Aid call: 2:28 p.m. (Auburn). After firefighters had evaluated a man with a significant skin infection, a private ambulance transported him to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center.
Jan. 27
Assault: 11:55 a.m. (Auburn). Firefighters provided initial treatment to a man whose co-worker had assaulted him, opening a one-inch head laceration, giving him a swollen eye, and leaving him with jaw pain before a private ambulance transported him to Auburn Regional Medical Center.
Jan. 28
Accident: 5:28 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters evaluated two people who were involved in a two-vehicle collision before a private ambulance transported one of them to Auburn Regional Medical Center. King County Medic One paramedics treated the second for more serious injuries before firefighters motored him to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center.
Jan. 29
Accident: 7:16 a.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a two-vehicle collision arrived to find both southbound lanes of A Street SE blocked, with one vehicle on its roof, and all occupants safely out. Nobody was seriously injured, and no further medical care was required.
Jan. 30
Residential fire: 7:26 a.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a residential fire arrived to a conflagration in the garage, which they swiftly brought under control. Firefighters then conducted primary searches and checked for extension into the home, confirming no victims and no fire spread beyond the garage. Once the fire was out, crews ventilated the structure to clear the smoke.
Jan. 31
Aid call: 4:06 p.m. Auburn). Before a private ambulance transported Firefighters evaluated a woman who was complaining of chest pain before a private ambulance took her to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center.
