Northbound I-5 overnight lane closures in Federal Way this week

Drivers who use northbound Interstate 5 in Federal Way should prepare for possible overnight delays beginning tonight and lasting through Friday morning.

Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews will close the right lane of northbound I-5 at South 272nd Street nightly at 7 p.m., two right lanes at 8 p.m., three right lanes at 9:30 p.m. and four right lanes at 11 p.m. for emergency expansion joint repair work.

During the closures, the HOV lane will be open to all vehicles. All lanes will reopen by 4:45 a.m.

There will also be lane closures in the same area in the opposite direction on southbound I-5 for work on an ongoing concrete pavement rehabilitation project.
