Albertsons kicks off ‘Giving Thanks’ program in Auburn, elsewhere

The holidays are a time for families to gather and celebrate their good fortune around a table filled with plenty to eat. But this season, more families will find themselves with fewer resources to make even the simplest meal possible. To keep the holiday spirit of giving alive, Albertsons stores in the Northwest and Intermountain West regions are sponsoring a “Giving Thanks” program.

Through Nov. 25, all Albertsons stores in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Utah and Wyoming are selling $1, $5 and $10 “Giving Thanks” coupons. With the funds raised, complete turkey dinners, with all the traditional holiday fixings, will be provided to local food banks or agencies in time to provide a Thanksgiving or holiday meal to families who otherwise may go without.

Auburn has two Albertsons locations at 1347 Auburn Way and 4010 A St.

“Our Albertsons customers are especially generous during the holiday season, and they look for ways to help those less fortunate in their communities,” said Mike Clawson, President of Albertsons Intermountain West Division. “We hope our customers will find Albertsons “Giving Thanks” holiday program to be an easy and convenient way for them to truly impact families, especially as difficult economic conditions have led to unprecedented demands on food banks.”

For every dollar customers donate, Albertsons will match up to $25,000 providing additional financial support to participating foodbanks.
