All wet with a rising bill

I just received my utility bill for water from the City of Auburn on Saturday and was shocked.

My bill was $67.94 in January and has crept up every month since, and this month it is $91.27. My consumption is basically the same, and we haven’t even gotten into the summer months, when water usage is obviously higher.

What is the City of Auburn doing with our water? Is the City selling our water? Why aren’t the residents informed of what is going on? I heard a rumor that they are going to be building a big, new reservoir in Lakeland Hills. If this is true, is the cost going to be passed onto the rest of us?

There is no excuse why water should cost this much, and I’m disgusted with the City of Auburn for their mismanagement and the antics of the mayor. I am a senior on a fixed income and can’t afford these high water bills. But, I suppose if I refused to pay it, they’d threaten to shut my water off. Real caring people.

If the City needs money, get it someplace else. Be creative and leave our water alone.
