Nancy Backus with her public service on the City Council has provided the necessary leadership attributes to step into the job as mayor.

Backus brings to the table experience, government knowledge, solving financial challenges of managing a city government, and is an experienced councilmember with dealing with large city budgets and making the tough decisions when necessary (weighing in all conditions).

Her interest in working with Auburn citizens and being her own decision maker constitutes the requirements for a mayor.
