Congressional races: The right to choose is profound

In response to Roy Mauldin (“Schrier is a contradiction,” Reporter, Aug. 17), according to recent polls conducted by Kaiser, Pew, Reuters, Politico and Gallup, as well as other reliable sources, an overwhelming majority of Americans, both men and women, support a woman’s right to choose.

A survey from June 11-20 by the Kaiser Family Fund Health Tracking poll found two-thirds of the American public do not want Roe v. Wade overturned. Furthermore, the majority who support this court decision increases among younger Americans (ages 18-44).

As the wife of a retired military officer, I will always support your right to express your opinions and practice your religious beliefs; however, I suspect you would never embrace Dr. Kim Schrier, the Democratic candidate, under any circumstance.
