Lewis leads in age of cooperation

Thank you for your article enumerating the impact of the many regional boards and commissions attended by Mayor Pete Lewis and all but one Auburn City Councilmember. Auburn citizens are fortunate to have such effective representation.

In addition to these, Mayor Lewis has demonstrated amazing ability to gain cooperation within the Auburn community to solve local problems, both social and financial. Lewis says citizens, businesses, the Chamber of Commerce, the faith community, the Auburn Downtown Association and many non-profits are indispensable in working with the city to resolve issues facing Auburn. “It’s like having a hundred hands on each brick as it is placed,” according to Lewis.

An outstanding example is the restoration of Cedar Lanes Park from a drug/needle infested area previously dangerous to children to a family friendly play area.

We’re anxious to see the completion of the many renewal projects in the works under Mayor Lewis’ fine leadership and integrity to continue to make Auburn more than you imagined.
