The only corruption found in
Pacific City Hall is the disruption
of its functions.
“Corruption,” they yelled from
unsigned complaints offering
no specifics for the quandary
facing Pacific.
To them it is a crying shame, twice
told investigations showed there
were no wicked acts chargeable
to the old administration. Depriving
them of someone to blame.
On his record the past mayor
stood. Fell to the upstart, a write-in,
a record breaker, a history maker,
who now stands on his own record.
To be recalled or not to be.
“Bring it on!” is his battle cry.
Like an echo from the past.
– Gerald A. McBreen, Pacific Poet Laureate
