Auburn Avenue Theater will present work of Auburn-based photographers Jay Galvin, Linda Hatcher and Dan Wright

Three Auburn based photographers Jay Galvin, Linda Hatcher, and Dan Wright are showcased in a special exhibition at the Auburn Avenue Theater from May 4 to June 26. Flora, fauna, and majestic landscapes of the Pacific Northwest are captured and presented through the artist’s lens.

Jay Galvin explores the region to document and communicate the diversity of wildlife that exists amongst us. Capturing fleeting moments in nature, which transcend the snap of the shutter his arts seeks to inspire and encourage the stewardship of our planet.

Linda Hatcher’s photographs range from airplanes to zoo animals, all of which are taken in Washington State and around the immediate Auburn area. Appealing to a wide variety of tastes, the celebration of nature is evident in her work.

Dan Wright has been captivated by photography since first attending Auburn High School 20 years ago. He works to capture the beauty of the Northwest on film which provides an artistic outlet as well as the foundation to a small business selling his artwork.

The public is invited to experience an opportunity to meet and chat with the artists, enjoy light snacks, and view the exhibit on Tuesday, May 19 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

The Auburn City Hall Gallery is presented by the Auburn Arts Commission and Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation. For a 2009 Gallery Brochure or for information on other cultural arts programs, go to http://www.auburnwa.gov/Community/arts_entertainment.asp or call 253-931-3043.
