Classical KING FM 98.1 is devoting September to preview the 2012-2013 classical music performance season, featuring more than 30 Northwest music groups ranging from concerts and operas to ballet and theatre.

The public radio station features the Auburn Symphony Orchestra twice throughout the day at 2:53 p.m. and 6:28 p.m. Monday.

“There is such a wealth of great music here in the Pacific Northwest, with literally hundreds of concerts this season. The choices can be overwhelming and we want to highlight some of the gems that deserve to be recognized, such as the Auburn Symphony,” said KING FM Program Director Bryan Lowe. “New Season Showcase gives our community a one-stop place to preview concerts before you go hear it live.”

From 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, Sept. 1-31, KING FM is airing musical highlights and previews of program pieces culled from dozens of upcoming Northwest performances. KING FM’s regular program Northwest Focus, which broadcasts at 8 p.m. on Fridays, will take a more in-depth approach with interviews, insight and more great local performances.
