Don Stevenson, Auburn’s ultra-marathon man of sole, officially completed his 1,200-mile benefit walk for 10-year-old Cullen Steele and the Children’s Organ Transplant Association.

Cullen, a fifth-grader at Auburn’s Holy Family Catholic School, faces a possible double-lung and heart transplant because of pulmonary hypertension.

Stevenson, known as the “Pacin’ Parson,” reached his final mile last Friday after hiking to Seattle, Tacoma and Olympia.

About $22,000 was raised for Cullen’s benefit, Stevenson said.

“There is still $53,000 to go before the goal of $75,000 is reached. I have no doubt that the community of Auburn and her neighbors will succeed in raising that amount,” Stevenson said.

“I am grateful to friends, loved ones and kind strangers who helped me with their prayers, encouragements, and many moral, spiritual and monetary contributions,” Stevenson said.
