Country star Bentley kicks off fair’s concert lineup

Dierks Bentley, an award-winning country artist and singer, kicks off the concert lineup announcements for the Washington State Fair.

Bentley performs Sept. 22, part of the fair’s 2016 Columbia Bank Concert Series.

Bentley has sold more than five million albums worldwide and has 13 No. 1 songs. The 13-time Grammy nominated singer and songwriter co-hosts this year’s Academy of Country Music Award on April 3.

Among his No. 1 singles are “What Was I Thinkin’,” “Come a Little Closer,” “Drunk on a Plane” and “Say You Do.”

Tickets for the concert go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. Tickets are $100 for Golden Circle, $80 and $65, and include fair gate admission.

Tickets will be available on the fair website or by phone at 888-559-FAIR (3247) daily, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Tickets can also be purchased in person at the fair’s box office, 9th Avenue Southwest and Meridian Street on Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Online and phone purchases are subject to standard processing fees. Tickets purchased on site will be charged a $2 per ticket service fee.

Pre-show party

Ticket holders to the concert can purchase a Dierks Bentley Pre-Show Party ticket for $38 each, held in the fair VIP Tent, inside the Gold Gate. These tickets do not include tickets to the concert.

The price includes a catered barbecue dinner by The Vault Catering, one complimentary beverage and a dessert bar. Enjoy a fun party atmosphere with a 94.1 KMPS emcee. There will be games and prizes and no-host bar drink specials. A VIP lanyard is included in the cost.

Doors open at 5 p.m., with dinner served at 5:30 p.m. All pre-show party ticket-holders will be automatically entered into a drawing to win a front row seat upgrade for two! Must be present when announced at 6:30 p.m. to win.

The Washington State Fair is one of the biggest fairs in the world, and the largest in the Pacific Northwest. It started in 1900 in Puyallup, and welcomes more than one million guests to the single largest attended event in the state.
