Voz de Mando

Los Angeles-based Voz de Mando received a Latin Grammy Award nomination for their Mexican regional music. In 2010 they received mainstream success with hit single, “Comandos del M.P. (500 Balazos)”. The group had only organized a year before, quite a feat for such a prestigious nomination.

Members of the band include brothers Jorge Gaxiola (accordian, vocals) and Miguel Gaxiola (bajosexto, vocals), plus Domingo Bolaños “El Mingo” (tuba) and Carlos Sígala “Charly” (drums).

Proyecto X

Projecto X came together in Salinas, Calif., in 2012, drawing all the right artists at the right time. The musicians agreed that they would join together, almost unknown, working on a project in R Studio. Since that day they have never separated. Proyecto X is known for songs “Ignore,” “Mi Angelita mi Diablita,” and “The Beast.”

The band includes: Carlos Zamora (bajo sexton and first voice), Eduardo Batres (tuba), Eliodoro “Lolo” Vallecillo (accordion and vocals), Fabian Rodriguez (second voice and animation), Johnny Espino (battery), and Raul Avalos (representative).

Mariachi Divas

The Mariachi Divas de Cindy Shea is an all-female mariachi band based in Los Angeles. The band was founded in 1999 by Cindy Shea. In 2009, they became the first all-female mariachi band ever to be nominated for a Grammy Award, and the first to win one. The band has been nominated for five Grammy Awards since 2014, winning twice. They are the official mariachi band of the Disneyland Resort. In May 2014, they headlined the opening of a new dinner theater in Anaheim, California, which is dedicated exclusively to mariachi music.

They have collaborated with other well-known artists on numerous occasions as well, including Joan Sebastian, Jenni Rivera, Marco Antonia Solis, Pablo Montero, Graciela Beltran, Paulina Rubio and Mariachi Vargas.
